The holidays are over!

The holiday has been a busy one.

I sincerely hope that you all enjoyed your's.

I have recently learnt how to go 'potty' outside. 'Mommy' says that she is very proud of me!

Now and then accidents arise, but that is expected.

My favourite activity is what the humans refer to a 'walkies'. It is exhilarating!
I have seen some beautiful scenery and I feel that the exercise is beneficial.
I have made a companion of the 'lead' and we now maintain a healthy give and take relationship.

'Mommy' has just come back with a new bed for me which is excellent as I am growing at an excelled rate.

The Lead of Terror!

Lately my days have been spent eating, sleeping and rough housing with the humans.
Oh and chewing. Quite a bit of chewing actually. 'Mommy' isn't best pleased.
The other day 'Mommy' showed me this long piece of what looked like a nylon type of material, with a metal clip attached to the end.
Obviously my first instinct was to bite and attack it. 'Mommy' told me "no". How ungrateful. For all I knew this snake like rope could have wrapped itself around her and suffocated her. I was just trying to protect us all. As it turns out, it was just a piece of material but better safe then sorry!
'Mommy' kept calling it a 'lead'. Lead in what I pondered. If it can't even form kinetic energy itself then it is not exactly going to have a starring role in a play is it?
'Mommy' took the clip and attached it to my collar.
She then gave me a succulent piece of chicken which was, may I add, divine.
I soon spotted that the lead was actually attached to me which sent me into a frenzy of shouts, yelps and eventually acrobatic tumbles.
'Mommy' comforted me but I was still unsure about the situation.
I hastily decided that it wasn't for me and walked away.
Then to my horror I noticed the lead following my every move.
I again attacked the foe but before I had the chance to cause damage, 'Mommy' pick it up by it's throat and grasped it in the palm of her hand.
This stopped the evil lead in it's tracks.
I then continued to carry on about my business.
'Mommy' was following me with the lead firmly wrapped around her hand. Keeping me safe from it's torment.
Maybe wearing this sometimes wouldn't be so bad. As long as 'Mommy' keeps control obviously.
'Mommy' kept saying "this is what you'll wear when we go walkies".
What is walkies? It sounds dreadful if I'm honest.
I suppose we shall have to wait and see.

Guest post from 'Mommy'

Hi Lovelys!

So I wanted to highlight something that relates to quite a lot of dog owners and Tyrion himself.
I always swore that if I ever got a dog that I would never dress them up. Ever!
But since having Tyrion, my view has completely changed.
Don't worry he won't be posting grumpy pictures of himself in a tutu or anything lol.
I  don't want to dress him in silly outfits even though he would look absolutely adorable!
But if you haven't noticed, Staffys are short haired.
Now I know he is only 9 weeks old and he doesn't have his 2nd jabs till next week but even when Tyrion goes near the back door he begins to shiver and sneeze.
In a couple of weeks time we will be able to take him out for walks and the weather will still be freezing; and so will he.
So I've decided to buy him something to help keep him warm when this day comes.
Bare in mind that at 9 weeks he still has a lot of growing to do so I didn't want to buy something that was really expensive as he will grow out of it within a month or so anyway.
And to be fair he will look super cute in it as well.
From amazon
So I've measured Tyrion and had to order a large because come 2 weeks time he will be bigger.
I will give updates when it arrives to let you know about sizing and quality of the product.

Locked up

Today I have spent the majority of my time in my boudoir.
I have caught up on very well needed sleep whilst confined to my personal space.
Though the larger part was not of my own choosing.
When I have been free to roam my surroundings, I have been frolicking joyously with the humans.
This was of course until I tried to sharpen my teeth on 'mommy's' leg.
And hands.
And elbow.
And both feet.
And at one point a good chunk of her hair.
Too which she let out cries and each time placed me into by bed and locked the pen door.
Well I am not sure what her issue with the matter is.
I am a puppy.
Teething is hard you know and if I am going to have strong jaw then bite I must.
Each time she would put her hands in the air and turn away from me.
Obviously this made me bite more as to gain her attention.
In the end she shouted 'NO!' at me and put me into my bed.
Well I was not best pleased at this reaction and eagerly shouted back myself.
I was replied with utter ignorance.
This is when I decided that sleep was the best course of action.
'Mommy' was in a very bad mood today.
Personally I believe that the vocal illness which the humans suffer from, may spread to the brain, thus controlling emotion. This is the only explanation for their behaviour.
One minute they cuddle and stroke you and the next (usually after a nip) they are telling you off.
I will study them further to clarify my findings.
I did however take great pleasure in playing with the tiny human today.
He jumps about and makes loud noises.
This is turn makes me want to jump about and make loud noises.
Although he tell me 'no' a lot, it is never a fiercely as the other humans do.
I do believe he shall make an excellent companion when I am a little bigger.
We have been playing with one of the toys that 'Nana Salter' got me. It's strong and makes a hypnotic jingling sound when kinetic energy is applied. I very much enjoyed that.

For now though I shall head back to my prison and rest a while.

Update

Obedience training!

'Mommy' has educated me on how to come when my name is called;
to sit nicely and to shake hands.
I have learnt these skills and will perform them when asked as it pleases the humans.
And I love the chicken treats that are given when I obey.
I will adhere to these commands until I am instructed to perform them in front of guests.
At which point I will look at the humans vacantly and walk away, thus humiliating them entirely.

Prequel

It was hard at the very beginning. Having to leave my biological mother and my siblings behind. Sleeping alone left me cold and in search of comfort.
I did however soon realise that I would no longer have to compete for the attention and affection that a growing dog, like myself, craves so dearly.
Not that there was much of a battle before; being the biggest of the litter did give me certain privileges. More space in the bed for instance and more food at meal times. When the new humans came to collect me I was happily sleeping but was quickly and cruelly I might add, disturbed from my slumber. I had met 'Mommy' and 'Daddy' before so going with them wasn't an issue. This is also when I picked up on their vocal issues.
'Nana' had come along to meet me as well. It was rather nice making a new acquaintance.
My biological mother seemed rather distressed by my departure though.
Surprisingly my new family seemed to sympathise with her plight and offered her reassurance. They too seemed disheartened to see her in such a state of sadness.
Reluctantly both our parties exchanged pleasantries then we left.
This is where I first met the car.
'Mommy' had control of the machine and 'Nana' was in the front of the beast also.
I sat in the back, in a box, next to 'Daddy'.
Now you must understand that this experience was rather daunting and although I did not weep, I am not ashamed to say that I did whimper a little. 'Daddy' did well to calm my nerves though, stroking my belly and chin.
After this I became rather excited. The prospect of new adventures loomed. To see and experience so many new things. Excited is most certainly how I felt.
And this is why I readily urinated all over the lovely, plush, brand new blanket that 'Mommy' had purchased especially for me. Not my finest hour but at 7 weeks old it is to be expected.
Myself at 7 weeks

The next few nights I slept in the same room as 'Mommy'. She would get up and let me out of the box everytime I whined or shouted. For this I am grateful for my bladder isn't strong enough to last the night. I woke up each morning refreshed and ready for the exciting day that lay before me.
'Mommy' however crawled out her bed. Her hair like prehistorically styled and big black circles under her eyes. I assumed that her bed must not have been as comfortable as mine and therefore her sleep is less enjoyable. A shame really. Especially as it took her so long to serve me my breakfast.
I must admit that I did find it amusing to watch the humans follow me on my exploration with wipes and scented bags just in case I urinated or passed a stool.
Humans have no shame.
